X-RAY machine
The X-Ray machine helps the dentist diagnose / analyze the dental problem of the patient. There are various types of x-ray machine for varying purpose.
Brain skull X-Ray machine – is used to analyze the abnormality of tumor in the jaw bone area, impacted tooth, buried tooth, abnormality of the tooth root, fractured jaw bone due to accident, and pre-dental brace analysis. The X-Ray is done outside the mouth, but can allow the dentist to see the jaw bone (upper / lower) and every tooth simultaneously, including the sinus area, the jaw bone connecting joint, spinal cord (neck section) and nose base bone. This type of X-Ray machine is also useful for patients who cannot (due to pain) open their mouth for the X-Ray technician to insert the film card into the mouth.
Different X-Ray technique yields varying result, for example by changing the standing position from frontal to side-way, the photograph obtained can clearly show the relationship between the front and rear jaw bone.

The digital X-Ray (mouth) does not require the use of the film card, but uses a sensor the size of regular film to record the picture which can be seen on the computer / monitor link-up immediately, thereby saving time normally needed to process the film. The process can be repeated and the photograph can be store in the computer hard disk to prevent loss of film. The digital X-Ray system takes only 0.16 second to capture the picture compared to 0.65 second for regular X-Ray systems. This reduces the amount of radiation entering the patient.
